This is Todd Huey’s /Lone Star Boars best bang for the buck 1280 thermal scope pick.  Ultra wide field of view at 2x magnification lets you scan and track targets quickly.  With the LEAP L12’s ocular zoom (actually zooms in on the screen analog not digital) you get great magnification with much less resolution loss. This was my preferred thermal scope all summer long. Ultra wide field of view made hunting overgrown thick areas and close target acquisition possible, while the ocular zoom made long shots in open fields a snap.
